This week, Missy sent us an audio message with our grandson Drew saying, “ahhhhhh.” Then David called and we heard him cooing and oohing and ahhing even more. This rudamentory language of infants, otherwise known as “baby talk,” doesn’t make much sense to the casual listener, but to the trained ear of a grandparent it is a most lyrical expression of love and wonder.

In his seemingly unintelligible expressions, we hear God telling us that all is well with the world. Through the innocence of a newborn grandson God speaks “peace be still.” Worries fade, fears subside, joys arise, hope is renewed. Our grandson speaks and all I can think is, “ahhhhhhhhh.”
